Firefly (2002) was a short-lived space opera from  Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon.

Whedon also directed the movie sequel, Serenity (2005).

Two collections of essays, Finding Serenity: Anti-heroes, Lost Shepherds and Space Hookers In Joss Whedon’s ”Firefly” and Serenity Found: More Unauthorized Essays on Joss Whedon’s “Firefly” Universe, were edited by Jane Espenson.
